Editing Samples

Instead of viewing the published versions of a text, you can see some of the behind-the-scenes edits that went into a piece.

This student wanted to repurpose her capstone paper for her application to the Harvard Divinity School. After rewriting and revising, she sent it to me for copyediting.

 

Service: Academic copyediting

Considerations: Edits were provided in Google Docs using the suggesting tool. Due to her tight schedule, our goal was to polish this paper, not to offer major revisions.

Considerations: Edits provided by using the track changes tools in Microsoft Word. Special care was taken to use the applicants' own words so the content is true to them.

As this article contains a lot of specialized terms and scientific knowledge, care was taken to not misrepresent or change any medical facts without querying the physicians or performing extensive research. Also, since the audience for this article is the general public, edits to clarify and simplify the content were made.
